January 2014 Southern Belles Swap

Christmas was awesome and I am looking forward to the new year so much so that I have already begun making cards for 2014.  The new mini will be out and the DSP that is in it is fantastic.  I used some of it for this card and also this is a new stamp.

December Card Class

The last class of 2013 will be on December 14, 2013 from 1-3 PM at my home.  These are the cards we will be making at this class.

The Christmas card up above I change just a little from this picture.  What I did was add a thin line of Raspberry Ripple ink to the left side of the Very Vanilla paper.  I did this with a ruler and the fine end of a SU marker.  It added that little extra that this card needed.  Come to the class to see how it turned out.

December Southern Belles Swap

I have never had much luck doing an all over design.  For some reason mine always look off so I decided to try it again but this time using softer colors to see how this would work for me.  After a number of misses I finally came up with this one that I really love and the subtle colors really make it work.

November Woo Hoo Stampers Swap

I am sending two swaps this month.  The theme is a winter or holiday tag or a 3 x 3 card, I decided to do the 3 x 3 card.  The second swap is one that I had done for another group that for some reason was cancelled and I already had them done they are also a winter theme so I decided to send both of these for the NY swap.

Another Christmas Card

I wanted something different for the background on this card and finally decided to wrap some bakers twine around an acrylic block.  I then inked it in Real Red ink and stamped it on my Whisper White background.  Love the way it looks and you can see the fiber lines.  A smaller block works better to keep the twine on the block then a larger one.

November Southern Belles Swap

I have so much going on in November that I figured I better get a start on thing ASAP.  The Southern Belles meet for our monthly meeting on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 and I am ready at least for the swap part.  This is the card I made it feature the Hello Lovely stamp set I got at convention in July.

October Woo Hoo Swap

This is the swap I am sending for my October Woo Hoo Stampers Swap.  It is based on the tag I did for the Shallotte Quarterly.  I changed the colors and the glitter and spritzed the background with the Vanilla Shimmer Smooch spray.  You really can't see it in the picture and it's hard to see in real life too. Added little pearls to the pom poms.

Cased Happy Hour Christmas Card

Saw this card by Judith Leenen and loved it so I cased it.  I used the Crumb Cake Taffeta ribbon and that is the only difference I made.

A Deer Christmas and Birthday

This is a stamp set I would not have purchased for myself but since it was give to me as a gift I had to use it.  I looked at it and looked at it and finally my son said to me "what is your problem" and I told him he looked at me laughed and said "add a red nose".  Light Bulb Moment!  The stamp said I am referring to is SU's  Remembering Christmas and JoAnne Hewins was the friend who gave it to me.  So I came up with a Christmas version and a Birthday version.  I have to say this set grew on me and thanks Rob for the red nose idea.

September Woo Hoo Stampers Swap

The September Swap theme is Fall.  I just got the new Chevron Punch and Walk in the Wild stamp set from Stampin' Up and I knew exactly what I was going to do.  The Chevron Punch is great for layering.  In this card I backed it up with DSP and gave it a whole different look.  I have been a Moose lover for years so this stamp set was perfect for me and I had to use it.  The swap card for the group says Happy Thanksgiving and not Happy Birthday, I always make a few extra for different occasions and this make a great masculine Birthday card.

Sept Southern Belles Swap

I wanted to do something different so I played around with paper and folds and came up with this card.  Closed it measures 5 1/2 X 3 inches but when open it is a regular sized card.  I scored it at 3, 4 3/8, 5 3/4, 7 1/8,  The first fold is a mountain and just go on.  This is a Christmas version and for my September class I did a Birthday version.

Christmas Bling

I wasn't sure I would like the new Silver Foil Paper from Stampin' Up but I do have to say I love it.  It is a sturdy cardstock and takes well to the embossing folder.  This card has a lot of bling and you don't see it in the picture.  The silver foil paper looks like an engraved mirror.  The silver glitter paper, the snowflake stamped in silver metallic ink and the embellishment add all the more bling to the card.  I really like it.

Casing Myself

I liked this card so much that I have done it several ways.  This version is for Christmas and will probably be for the next Southern Belles Swap.  The Thanksgiving version was done in my August Class. I also did a Birthday version.

JoAnne's Southern Belles Shoebox Swap

Saturday July 27 JoAnne is hosting a Shoebox Swap for the Southern Belles and several other NC demos.  This is the card I designed for this swap.  It uses several new products from the Holiday Mini which will be available on August 1, 2013.  On the inside of the card I wanted something different so I made a die cut of the largest snowflake with the new framelets and put that on the inside of the card for the greeting.

More Convention Swaps

Couldn't decide which color combination I like the best so I made a number of each so this way swappers can pick out the one they like the best.  Used all the new Stampin' Up! In Colors.

Which one do you like the best?
