Welcome to the NC Demos Blog Hop. We are here the last Sunday of the month and are so glad you can join us this evening. The new catalog goes live on June 3rd and so the theme for this month is bidding a "Fond Farewell" to our favorite product which is so hard to do. I don't like that my favorite go to items retire and I really have a hard time with the Designer Series Paper. SU makes awesome sets of DSP and some of them are to beautiful to use and I have to admit some of them are in frames hanging on walls around the house, so for my projects today I am working with DSP and one of my very best favorites the Magnolia Lane.
I am making 2 projects today using this DSP the first one is a fun fold card that I have not made in a very long time so I decided I will do it tonight since it uses a lot of DSP, it is a card that folds flat to go in the envelope but opens to stand on it's own.
The first picture is the card closed and the second is the card open. Easy and simple card to make. For this card I took a piece of Petal Pink cardstock and cut it at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored it on each side at 2 and 3 1/8 and then folded it it so from the top it looks like this
I then took a piece of white cardstock and cut it at 2 x 5 1/4 and this piece I put on the back to send my message
I then cut DSP this way 3 pieces at 1 3/4 x 5 1/4 and 2 pieces at 7/8 x 5 1/4 and adhered them to the card front. I then cut 2 pieces of white cardstock with the Stitched so Sweetly dies and put on aside and the other one I stamped with the sentiment on the bottom and fussy cut one of the pretty flowers from the DSP and put it above the sentiment with a Dimensional and this piece I glued to the front panel of the card.and I was done at least with the card. So now the second project.
I love the envelope punch board and it too is retiring so I had to use it to make a matching envelope for this card I do this for special occasion cards and it also helps keep down the amount of retired DSP I have. So I made a matching envelope following the directions on the board
The extra piece of white cardstock that was cut with the die goes on the front to write in the address of the person receiving the card
So the finished projects match and can be sent to someone who needs a pick me up during this time.
Thank you so much for stopping by and make sure you check out blog where you will find more fun projects on our retiring favorites And remember we are here the last Sunday of each month and hope to see you next month.
