August 2020 NC Demos Blog Hop

Welcome to the August 2020 NC Demos Blog Hop.  We are here the last Sunday of each month and are so happy you could join us.  The theme for this month is "Scenic Views".  When I think of scenic views I think of vast beautiful landscapes or of one scenic view I would love to experience The Northern Lights.
Since this doesn't seem like it will happen thankfully there is a technique called the Northern Lights which will have to do for right now.  I really like using this technique the results for each card is different and you really can't make a mistake.

This is the card I have made for you this evening. So lets get started. To begin I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock 5 1/4 x 4 and placed it on my work station horizontally.  I then picked out my colors Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Rich Razzelberry and sponged them on the cardstock beginning in the middle with the Daffodil Delight and continued till all colors were on the paper in stripes.

I then sponged on Mossy Meadow at the bottom for the earth making sure to leave some of the light parts as reflections on the ground.  I used Night of Navy for the sky.

Once that was done added my main focus points and then stamped the rest of the trees and ground in Memento Black.  I even put some black in the sky for clouds. I used the Snow Front stamp set.

I then put this on my card base of Misty Moonlight cut 4 1/2 x 11 and scored at 5 1/2,  Kept the inside very simple just stamped the small snowman for the stamp set in lower right corner.

To finish the card I mixed the Shimmer Frost White paint with some water in a spritzer and sprayed some over the card for that misty winter look.

In another version I just added some white gel pen stars to the sky in the card.

Thank you so much for joining us this month and please be sure to visit the other posts I am sure you will find some wonderful ideas from these talented demonstrators.  Enjoy!
