July 2023 NC Demos Blog Hop

Welcome to the NC Demos Blog Hop we are here the last Sunday of each month and are so glad that you could join us.  The theme of this months blog is "FAUX-tastic".  We will be showing you some new techniques and some old ones so make sure to visit everyone's blog.

The Faux technique I am showing you today has two names and I am not sure what to call it.  In the UK they say Faux Fracture and here in the states they call it Faux Patchwork.  Well, whatever the name is I thought it was cool and had to try it it's not hard and its fun.

Begin with two pieces of cardstock, contrasting colors.  I picked Black and Granny Apple Green.  I decided the green would by my top color.  I then took the Stylish Shapes dies and took out the two largest ones I used the large one on the Granny Apple Green and the smaller one on the Black.  Remember to keep the large square you cut out you will need it again.  The dies were used to form an Diamond Shape on the cardstock.

Glue the Granny Apple Green onto the Black piece and the square you cut out glue it to the back of both these pieces show it shows through the front.

Then cut 4 pieces of black 5 1/2 x 1/4 and these pieces will now be glued down.  Place glue on the strip then begin to glue it to a corner of the black piece that is show through the green and continue to place it till the end of the green cardstock.  Like this and then cut off the ends and you FAUX Fracture Patchwork is done.

I then added it to the Daffodil Delight base which is 5 1/2 x 8 1/4 scored at 4 1/4. On the inside I added a piece of white 5 x 3 1/2.

From the Playing in the Rain stamp set I stamped the turtle in Memento Black and colored him in with our SU pencils, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive and added him to the center of the Diamond Shape with dimensionals and stamped a sentiment in black at the bottom and added some of the Loose Daisies and the card was done.

I hope that you will give this technique a try.

Thanks you so much for stopping by this evening and make sure to visit all the other blogs for a FAUX-tastic time.

Until next month be safe.
