December 2021 NC Demos Blog Hop

Merry Christmas and welcome to the NC Demos Blog Hop.  We are here the last Sunday of each month and are so glad you could join us.  I sincerely hope everyone has had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to the New Year.

We were given a challenge this month to make a card based on the roll of the dice.  Our card has to use paper from the Brights family, has to be a Birthday card and have texture, use DSP and layers.  So my card this month is a fun fold twist on an easel card.  Not my idea I cased it from fellow demonstrator Debbie Henderson.

I had to use the new Awesome Otters Sale A Bration Stamp Set and the Sunshine and Rainbow 6x6 Sale A Bration DSP, love the new stuff in the brochure.

My card is Melon Mambo cut 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2 after folding add the DSP which I cut 5 1/4 x 4 and 4 x 2 1/2 this is now the base of my card.

Took another piece of Melon Mambo and cut it 9 x 3 and scored it at 4 1/2 for this piece I cut a piece of DSP a different design and white at 4 1/4 x 2 3/4.  The DSP I put on the front of the card and on the white I stamped in black the otter in the water at the bottom of the paper and colored him in with blends.

On a piece of white  3 1/2 x 2 I stamped another otter and sentiment and again colored them in with blends and put this piece on the front of this little card and then glued the mini card to the card base in the center of the 5 1/4 x 4 DSP piece. When folded fits a regular envelope.

For the easel part I cut white 2 1/4 x 1 stamped a sentiment and glued it on a piece of Melon Mambo  2 1/2 x 1 1/4 and this piece was put in the center of the small fold with dimensionals and this is where the mini card is placed to keep it open. I hope you love it as much as I do it was a fun card to make and not at all hard.

J

October 2021 NC Demos Blog Hop

Welcome to the NC Demos Blog Hop we are here the last Sunday of each month and are so happy you could join us.  This month's challenge really had me we were to pick a card from any of the current catalogs and make it but using different products.

So I decided to take that current mini, the August-December catalog, I closed my eyes opened a page and pointed at a card.  OK not one of my smartest ideas but instead of going through each card I now had mine picked out.

The first thing I changed was the color from Pear Pizzazz to Real Red and I cut my cardstock at 4 1/4 x 11 and scored it at 5 1/2.  I noticed the next layer on the card was 4 x 5 1/4 and was embossed with the Painted Textures folder so I used the Tastful Textures folder on my piece of card stock.

I next changed the DSP to 3 pieces of Whimsy Wonder Specialty DSP and cut them 1 1/2 x 3 1/2 and then layered them on the piece of card stock.

The card I picked used a stamp from the Bright Baubles stamp set and I wanted to keep the image round so I used the Hey Birthday Chick stamp set.  Stamped the image in Black and colored it in with Blends and added a little bit more stamping to the background like on the card.  This piece of white was 3 1/4 x 4 1/2.

So the last thing left to do was the Greeting and I stamped mine with Black on Real Red instead of using Misty Moonlight and fussy cut it out and attached it and my card was done.  Came out pretty good and I think I did follow the challenge.

Thank you so much for stopping by and please visit the other talented ladies on the blog hop they will impress you with their designs.  Until next month be safe.

September 2021 NC Demos Blog Hop

Hi and Welcome to the NC Demos Blog Hop we are here the last Sunday of the month and I am so glad you could join us.  This months theme is "Trash to Treasure".  As crafters we have a tendency to save things that other people throw out and today I am going to share one of mine with you.

My sons have a sweet tooth and I make a cake fot them that they love and it is not too high fat or to much sugar until of course you add frosting and that they love.  The cake only uses two ingredients a can of soda and a box of cake mix.  Stir together put in greased pan bake at 350 for 37 minutes and then you have  cake.  I like it just like this but the boys like frosting to I get the frosting.  Jon had asked me to save the containers for nails and screws and so they were piling up and then I got a great idea I needed some small gift boxes for Christmas last year and so I took a few and decorated and used them. So, that is what I am showing you today my trash (frosting containers) is now a treasured gift box.

They are easy to decorate I take a piece of DSP 3 1/4 x 12 and put some sticky tape on both edges and in the middle and slowly guide it around the can for the top I cut out a circle from the layering circles die set and basically I am done.  But, of course, I am not because it does need to be decorated a little more.  On one I made a belly band and put a tag and some ribbon and on the other only tied on some ribbon put the tag on the top. You can keep it plain or dress it to the T's it is all up to you. They are the perfect size for small gifts.

Another thing I hoard is the tissue paper from the Paper Pumpkin boxes they are perfect to wrap your gift in and put in the now decorated frosting container.  Have fun with this idea.

Thank you so much for stopping by this month and make sure you check out the other projects on this list and remember to come back next month.

While going through some retired paper I came across a piece of blue glitter paper.  It is retired but I saw a card right away so I made it.
