July 2020 NC Demos Blog Hop

Join us blog

Welcome to the July NC Demos Blog Hop we are here the last Sunday of each month and thank you for joining us this evening.  The theme for this months hop is "Summer".  Having lived most of my life on Long Island NY summer is all about the water for me.  I lived in  Queens county and later on in Suffolk county and there was the Atlantic on one side and the bay on the other.  There was Rockaway Beach, Jones Beach, Smith Point Park and Montacuk Point.  I remember fishing off a pier with my father and later on doing the same thing with my boys.  It was so much fun to got to the little harbors and wait for the fishing boats to come in and be able to buy the fresh catch and yes I can gut, scale and fillet a fish with the best of them.  But the best was just floating in a dingy and watching the other boats pass by and wonder where they were going.  It was peaceful, relaxing and claiming and it brings back so many wonderful memories.  So I had to do something about water and boats and fun.

So my card today uses the Sailing Home stamp set

My card base is Night of Navy cut 5 1/2 X 11 and scored at 4 1/4.

Take a piece of Seaside Spray 5 1/4 x 4 and run it through the Big Shot in the Old World Paper 3D
Embossing Folder.  Tie a piece of Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon on the edge and set aside.

Then take a piece of Whisper White 5 1/4 x 2 1/4 and randomly stamp the compass and the anchor on the paper using Seaside Spray and Soft Suede ink, matt it on a piece of Night of Navy 5 1/4 x 2 1/2 and glue it to background nest to the ribbon and adhere this piece to the card.

I then took the Oval Nesting Dies and cut out a plain white oval and I stamped the sailboat and the sea gulls on it, boat in Night of Navy and gulls in Seaside Spray.  Then took my Wink of Stella and added some under the boat and into the water. Then placed it on a Night of Navy oval and onto the card with dimensionals.

And to finish the front I colored three rhinestones with Night of Navy Blends and put one on the top of the sail and the other 2 on the stamped panel.  The inside is very simple stamped the smaller sailboat in the lower right corner and salutation in the center in Seaside Spray.

And here again is the finished card

Thank you so much for stopping by this month and make sure you check out all the other people on the list and let Summer take you away. See you next month.
