April 2023 NC Demos Blog Hop

Welcome to the NC Demos Blog Hop.  We are here the last Sunday of each month and are so happy you could join us this evening.  This month's theme is more of a challenge.  We are at the end of last years annual catalogue and the beginning of a new one which goes live May 2nd and the end of the mini, so we have to use something from the Online Exclusives and a favorite item that will carry over into the new catalogue.  There are a ton of options of course and I went with the Irresistible Blooms stamp set and DSP and the returning Sentimental Park stamp set and created a card design I have never done before it was a fun card to come up with.

The base for my card is Daffodil Delight cut 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4.  I took a piece of DSP from the Hello Irresistible DSP and cut it 5 1/4 x 4 and attached it to the front of my card.  I then took another piece of the same DSP and stamped my sentiment and set it aside.  Then I took another piece of DSP in another color and in black stamped the flowers.  I did this several times until I found a color combination I like that worked with the DSP on the card.  My first try was on Pretty Peacock a returning color but it was too dark so I went lighter.

I took the strip with the sentiment and cut it up and put it in the center of the card but separated, then cut out the flowers and placed them around the sentiment also added some leaves I had cut from the DSP. To finish the card added some of the Loose Frosted Dots from the same suite.

For the inside of the card I cut a piece of white 5 x 3 1/2 to the bottom added a strip of the DSP from the front of the card and a tiny leaf I also cut out of the DSP.

Thanks you so much for stopping by this evening and make sure you check out the other blogs on the list for some more ideas.  Until next month be safe.
