August 2025 NC Demos Blog Hop

Welcome to the NC Demos Blog Hop.  We are here the last Sunday of the month and so glad you could join us this evening.  This months theme is "Upcycle".  This I have to admit was a challenge but I hope I did ok. I wanted to do something different.

My sons work nights so they usually have dinner late and I find my dinner the next morning in the frig on a plate covered in aluminum foil.  This happens several times a week so there is a lot of foil being thrown out.  So one day after taking my dinner out to heat it up I looked at the foil and a light bulb went off in my brain.  I have used foil on cards before and other items but this time I took the foil, crumbled it up and made like a stamp out of it.  I wasn't sure it would work but it did and made the cute irregular designs on the paper so I knew I was using it on my card for this blog hop.

I cut white cardstock 5 x 3 3/4 made made 5 aluminum foil stamps and stamped Strawberry Slush, Azure Afternoon, Daffodil Delight, Garden Green and Black on it and loved the way it came out.  I put this piece on a piece of Basic Black 5 1/4 x 4 and on a card base of Basic White 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4 and put it on the side.  I need something more for this card.

I love the 6 x 6 paper packs but I always wind up with a ton of strips because the paper is either cut down to 5 1/2 or 5 1/4.  These 1/2 or 3/4 inch strips I sometimes use on the inside of the card but I still wind up with a ton left over.  I was ready to throw them out and then this card challenge came up and I decided instead of throwing them out I would use them.  So I cut them down to 6 x 1/4 got out my quillling tool and quilled a flower for the front of my card.  Let it dry and added it to the front over my aluminum foil stamped front.

To finish the card I added a sentiment from one of our ephemera packs and my card for this blog hop was done.  I hope you like it.

Thank you so much for stopping by this evening and please make sure to stop by all the other blogs for some great ideas.  I know I am looking forward to checking them out too.

Till next month be safe and keep on stamping.

July 2025 NC Demos Blog Hop

Welcome to the NC Demos Blog Hop.  We are here the last Sunday of each month and so glad you could join us this evening.  The theme for this month is "Big and Bold".  At OnStage this year all attendees received the Layered Thoughts stamp set.  I wasn't sure if I would use it but I have to say it has become my go to stamp set when I need a fast card for someone.  I have even used it in one of my card classes and my ladies loved it.

The base of my card is Lemon Lime Twist 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4.  I added a piece of DSP from the Refreshed Beauty pack and cut it 5 1/4 x 4. I then took a piece of white scrap and punched out a 1 3/4 inch circle.  I took this piece and put it over a piece of white 4 1/4 x 3.  Moving this circle stencil around and using brushes I added circles in Flirty Flamingo, Lemon Lime Twist and Azure Afternoon.  When I was satisfied with this I then took black ink and stamped the Happy Birthday in the center of this piece and then attached it to the front of the card with dimensionals.  Finished the card with 3 Lemon Lime Twist shiny sequence.

For the inside I took white 5 x 3 1/2 and added a strip of the DSP  to the right edge.

I also did another card very similar to this one but used the With You in Mind stamp set and added a cupcake on the lower right side from the same stamp set.

Thank you so much for joining us this evening and make sure to visit all the other blogs for more great ideas.  Till next month be safe and stamp on.

June 2025 NC Demos Blog Hop

Welcome to the NC Demos Blog Hop.  We are here the last Sunday of the month and so glad you can join us today.  This months theme is fashionable crafting and we had to pick an outfit from our closet or from the store and take elements from it and make a card.  This is the outfit I chose.

Here is a close up of the colors which are mainly Pretty Peacock and Calypso Coral and here is my card.

I had a lot of fun making it.  The card base is Pretty Peacock cut 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4.  Next is a layer of Calypso Coral cut 5 1/4 x 4 and added to the front of the card.

Next I took Basic White and cut it 5 x 3 3/4 and using the Charming Day stamp set stamped the flowers and sentiment in Pretty Peacock and then colored it with the light and dark Pretty Peacock and the light and dark Calypso Coral.  When I was finished had to add some Wink of Stella to the Roses.

I then add a strip of Pretty Peacock 3 3/4 x 1/2 to the top and bottom and added to that strip a piece of Calypso Coral cut 3 3/4 x 1/4 on the top and bottom.

For the inside I cut Basic White 5 x 3 3/4 stamped the leaves in Pretty Peacock at the lower right.

I also did another version where I colored both flowers the same couldn't decide which one I liked better.

Thank you so much for stopping by this evening.  Please make sure to visit all the other blogs for more great ideas.

Till next month be safe and keep on stamping.
