February 2020 NC Demos Blog Hop

Welcome to the February NC Demos Blog Hop we are here the last Sunday of the Month and are so happy you are joining us.  The theme for this month is BUGS, yuk! not my favorites.  I do like butterflies and bees so I am ok with taking part in this blog hop LOL.  I grew up with some wonderful stories, myths and legends and one on my favorites is about butterflies being sent down from heaven by God when we needed a little faith and if they landed on you for even the briefest moment God sent you a kiss so I had to do at least 1 butterfly card I love this story and always look for butterflies.

This is the butterfly card

I used the Butterfly Wishes stamp set  and I did have to fussy cut the butterflies but I like doing that. The card base is Night of Navy cut at 4 1/4 and scored at 5 1/2.  The next layer is Balmy Blue cut 5 1/4 x 4 and it was put in the Eyelet Lace embossing folder and run through the Big Shot and put on the top of the card.  I then cut a piece of Night of Navy with a small die from the Stitched Nested Labels die set and a larger one in Whisper White.  I stamped the branch and flower in Balmy Blue and the Salutation in Night of Navy.  Then on a separate piece of Whisper White I stamped the butterflies in Night of Navy and one flower in Balmy Blue fussy cut them and put them on the side.  The Night of Navy nested die piece I cut in half and glued it on the corners of the Whisper White piece and attached it to the card the added the butterflies with dimensionals and the flower and added a Night of Navy enamel dot from the Happiness Blooms Enamel dots to the center of the flower.

For the inside I used a piece of 5 1/4 x 4 Whisper White and stamped the flower in the center in Balmy Blue and added a butterfly then stamped a flower in Night of Navy on a scrap of Whisper White and fussy cut it and added it with a dimensional to the card.

This card is the bee card and is very simple and easy to make it does have a little bit of fussy cutting. I am doing bees for my two honey bees that come and visit every year.  I moved into my house almost 13 years ago and every year these two honey bees appear and guard us and the house.  I have named them Buzz and Buzzette and this card is for them.

I cut a piece of Daffodil Delight card stock 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored it at 4 1/4.  I then cut a piece of Golden Honey Specialty DSP from the SAB brochure and added it to the front of the card.  I then took the Too Sentimental stamp set and stamped my salutation in Black and fussy cut it out and put it in the center of the card with dimensionals.  I then took another sheet of this amazing DSP and fussy cut out the three bees and added them to the front of the card with dimesionals also.  To finish the front I added some tiny gold faceted gems.

For the inside I cut a piece of Whisper White 5 1/4 x 4 and on the lower right added a behive and a small bee I also fussy cut from the piece of DSP and my card was done.

I hope you liked what I have made for you today and if you want to see more BUGS please go onto the next person on the list and I hope to see y'all here again next month. Happy Stamping!

Beautiful cards, Tina, and I really love the color combo on the butterfly card. Blues and greens are my favorite pairing :) And that's too funny that you have 2 guard bees, lol!
