September 2020 NC Demos Blog Hop

Welcome to the September 2020 NC Demos Blog Hop,  We are here the last Sunday of each month and are so happy you can join us.  The theme for this month is All Things Fall, and so I decided to do a Halloween card.  I am not really into Halloween but I do have 2 Birthdays this month my niece whose birthday is October 26 and one of my team members who was born on October 31st, spooky right.

My card begins with this piece.  Basic Black cut 5 1/4 x 4 and cut out with the Stitched Shaped Dies the square and the circle.  I have a stack of these sitting on my desk from a swap I did earlier in the month and of course I couldn't throw out these pieces and they have been staring at me all month so I decided to do a card with them for the hop but wasn't sure what I was gonna do. And of course the openings were not all in the same spots close but not perfect

So I then cut a piece of Mango Melody 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4 and mounted the black piece to the card base and I was set to go.  Then I had to decided what's next so I took one of my favorite stamp sets Have A Hoot and came up with this card for the hop.

Taking the same die set and cutting out a square and a circle I stamped and colored my owl with my Blends

And put them on the side. Next I took my Plaid Tidings 6 x 6 DSP and picked out a pattern that I thought was perfect.  As I said my black pieces were not all line up the same so the pieces of DSP had to be matched perfectly to the 2 black pieces I was using on the card.

For the inside I just had to use another owl and here he is on a piece of Whisper White 5 1/4 x 4

Then I stamped my Salutation on a piece of white scrap in Memento Black and fussy cut it and added it to the card with dimensionals and I was done.

For the other card I needed I cut off the stitching around the owls and just adhered them inside the die cut images so some of the Mango Melody comes through and I  put dimensionals behind the Basic Black piece instead of gluing it down like I did in the first card.

Not sure which one I like better so just going to address the envelopes and put a card in and get them in the mail for these birthdays.

Thank you so much for stopping by this month and make sure you check out the next person on the list and see what they have done for their All Things Fall project.  Better yet check out all the blogs for some wonderful ideas.  See you next month.

Both cards are so cute and it's great that you got to use up the extra layers you had from your swap...that's a great win-win!!

Love your cards! The owls are just the best. Now, I know I need that stamp set :) and, what a great idea to trim the die cut pieces to take off the stitched edge - brilliant. Thank you so much for sharing!
