October 2020 NC Demos Blog Hop

Welcome to this months NC Demos Blog Hop.  We are here the last Sunday of each month and are so happy you could join us this evening.  This months theme was a challenge we had to pick a stamp set and accessories and then make two projects show casing two different events.  Sometimes it hard enough coming up with one idea.

So I made a card and a 3D items.  Since the holidays are so closes its time to make a little something I can keep both in the house and in my car and handout to people I see along the way.  For example the girls at the bank and post office, in the library at the store as well as for friends and neighbors so this year I am making a 2-4-6-8 box they work up quick and easy.

The box is easy to make cut a piece of cardstock 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and score at 2, 4, 6 and 8 you will have a 1/2 piece left over then turn it on the short side and score at 1".  For this box I used Pool Party. Once all the scoring is done fold the score line and  then the 1" side cut up to that line and cut off the small little 1/2 piece

Then glue side and fold in bottom and glue down.  Simple easy and the box is done now to decorate it.
I took a piece of the Snowflake Splendor DSP cut 4 1/4 x 1 3/4 and put in on the front and die cut the two smaller snowflakes from the So Many Snowflakes die set and added them to the front and put a clear rhinestone in the center of each to close the box I pushed the top together and used the retired Cropodile to cut nicks in the side to tie the ribbon.  The ribbon I used was the Pool Party Gingham from the Flowers for Every Season Combo Pack.  And the box is done.

My second project is a fun fold card the I did many years ago and then just stopped making it.  I recently saw the idea again and used it in my next project which is a card.  I need many birthdays cards during the winter months and so the Snowflake Wishes stamp set spoke to me and I make this Winter Birthday card.

To begin took a piece of Pool Party cardstock 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored it at 4 1/4 and 5 1/2 folded all the score lines and the small 1 1/4 inch piece I glued down. it makes this cute fold. I cut a piece of Whisper White 5 1/4 x 2 3/4 added a 1 x 2 3/4 piece of DSP and inside was done.

Next I took a 1 x 5 1/4 piece of DSP and added it to the small flap and another piece 5 1/4 x 2 3/4 to the other side.  I then took the same Pool Party Gingham ribbon and tied the ribbon in a knot around this small area.  I them took another piece of Whisper White and Pool Party and using the Celebration Dies and the Stitched So Sweetly dies cut them out.  On the Whisper White in Pool Party I stamped the Salutation and the Happy Birthday is from the Timeless Tulips stamp set and put them on the card using dimensionals.   I then cut out two more of the snowflakes but before I put them on the card I brushed them with Wink of Stella and added them with glue dot to finish I added clear rhinestones to the centers of the snowflakes and I was done.  The DSP was from one sheet I used one side for the box other side for the card.

I hope you liked this month's projects and that I will see you here again next month.  But wait! you are not done yet make sure to check out all the projects that are being presented on this Blog Hop check the links below to move to the next one.

Have a healthy and safe Halloween.

Great projects Tina! The 2-4-6-8 box brings back memories. It was the first box I learned how to make. It's a classic
