September 2021 NC Demos Blog Hop

Hi and Welcome to the NC Demos Blog Hop we are here the last Sunday of the month and I am so glad you could join us.  This months theme is "Trash to Treasure".  As crafters we have a tendency to save things that other people throw out and today I am going to share one of mine with you.

My sons have a sweet tooth and I make a cake fot them that they love and it is not too high fat or to much sugar until of course you add frosting and that they love.  The cake only uses two ingredients a can of soda and a box of cake mix.  Stir together put in greased pan bake at 350 for 37 minutes and then you have  cake.  I like it just like this but the boys like frosting to I get the frosting.  Jon had asked me to save the containers for nails and screws and so they were piling up and then I got a great idea I needed some small gift boxes for Christmas last year and so I took a few and decorated and used them. So, that is what I am showing you today my trash (frosting containers) is now a treasured gift box.

They are easy to decorate I take a piece of DSP 3 1/4 x 12 and put some sticky tape on both edges and in the middle and slowly guide it around the can for the top I cut out a circle from the layering circles die set and basically I am done.  But, of course, I am not because it does need to be decorated a little more.  On one I made a belly band and put a tag and some ribbon and on the other only tied on some ribbon put the tag on the top. You can keep it plain or dress it to the T's it is all up to you. They are the perfect size for small gifts.

Another thing I hoard is the tissue paper from the Paper Pumpkin boxes they are perfect to wrap your gift in and put in the now decorated frosting container.  Have fun with this idea.

Thank you so much for stopping by this month and make sure you check out the other projects on this list and remember to come back next month.

Such a great idea! I love how the frosting containers can have a second or third life.

Your containers are so cute. Thanks for sharing them! I also got the card you sent. I love it. I think I like both ways of making that card.
