November 2022 NC Demos Blog Hop

Hi and welcome to the NC Demos Blog Hop we are here the last Sunday of each month and thank you so much for stopping buy.  This month's theme is "A Little Scrap Goes a Long Way".  I don't keep my scraps as much as I used to.  I would save every little piece and then I realized I am only going to save what I know I will eventually use.  Sometimes this doesn't work out either.  But I was happy I saved this DSP because it worked out perfect for this card.

The card I am doing for you today is called the Twisted Ribbon Technique and it uses up a nice amount of DSP scraps.

I began with a card base of Basic White cut  5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4 on the inside I put a scrap of DSP 5 1/2 x 1/2 on the right edge. My scraps are from the Pretty Prints DSP

I then took another piece of white 5 x 2 1/2 and put a tick mark with a pencil every 1/2 inch on both sides this is my guide for placing my scrap pieces of DSP. Cut pieces of scrap DSP 3 1/2 x 1/2, I used 2 different designs for this card.  Beginning on the left side glue down strips of paper lining them up with the tick marks do one side first and then go back and do the other side.  Once it is done then take your snips and cut off the extra edges.  Put this piece on a piece of card stock I used Blackberry Bliss cut 5 1/4 x 2 3/4. Glue to the front left of card.

I then die cut 3 circles, smallest in white, next one used a piece of DSP and the largest in Blackberry Bliss. Stamped sentiment in Blackberry Bliss layered the three circles with dims and attached to card.

Last thing I did was make a bow with the Polished Pink open weave ribbon and attached that to the card and added on Polished Gem on the white circle.

Thank you so much for stopping by this month and please make sure to check out the other blogs to get some great ideas to do with your scrap pieces.  Until next month by safe and keep on stamping.

Thanks for sharing this technique, Tina. I have this on my list of things to try and now that I'm seeing it again, I'm moving it up to the top of the list! I have quite a bit of Christmas themes DSP piling up so I should have enough to play with. Thanks for sharing!

Pretty card Tina. If I had had time I would have tried this technique for this hop. Somehow I thought that this was something Tina would do! I still need to try it!

Tina - What a pretty way to use scraps of paper. Your card has me thinking about the beautiful pieces of scrap paper I can use with this technique. Thanks so much for sharing!
