Welcome to the NC Demos Blog Hop. We are here the last Sunday of the month and so glad you could join us this evening. This months theme is "Upcycle". This I have to admit was a challenge but I hope I did ok. I wanted to do something different.
My sons work nights so they usually have dinner late and I find my dinner the next morning in the frig on a plate covered in aluminum foil. This happens several times a week so there is a lot of foil being thrown out. So one day after taking my dinner out to heat it up I looked at the foil and a light bulb went off in my brain. I have used foil on cards before and other items but this time I took the foil, crumbled it up and made like a stamp out of it. I wasn't sure it would work but it did and made the cute irregular designs on the paper so I knew I was using it on my card for this blog hop.
I love the 6 x 6 paper packs but I always wind up with a ton of strips because the paper is either cut down to 5 1/2 or 5 1/4. These 1/2 or 3/4 inch strips I sometimes use on the inside of the card but I still wind up with a ton left over. I was ready to throw them out and then this card challenge came up and I decided instead of throwing them out I would use them. So I cut them down to 6 x 1/4 got out my quillling tool and quilled a flower for the front of my card. Let it dry and added it to the front over my aluminum foil stamped front.
Till next month be safe and keep on stamping.

It looks like we had similar ideas for our up-cycle projects, Tina :) Great minds things alike! I honestly would never thought of using aluminum foil to stamp a background though, so thanks for sharing this "new to me" technique!
Tina, what a cute idea using foil. At first when I saw your desk I thought it was Hersheys kisses foil (yes guilty having Hersheys Kisses on my desk.) thanks for the idea using foil for a stamp.
Tina - What a great idea to use crumpled foil as a stamp! And coiling scraps to make a beautiful flower is brilliant! Love your card!
Such a great idea to use foil for stamping!! I love your quilled flower too! Good way to use scraps! Thanks for sharing!
I love this idea, Tina! I always forget about quilling. I haven't done it in ages! Thank you for sharing!
How fun. I need to play.
